About me

My name is Juan Felipe Pérez Ariza and I am a lecturer and researcher hoping to understand the cognitive abilities that allow us to make sense of the world.

I hold a B.A. in Music education from Universidad Pedagógica Nacional, in Colombia and an M.Sc. in Music Psychology (M.Sc. in Music, Mind & Brain) from Goldsmiths, University of London.

My main interest is to understand how learning occurs in humans, and how it is mediated by neural plasticity and the interaction between neuronal networks. As such, I am deeply interested in understanding how our brains and behavior change when we learn new information, from the moment we encounter it to when we are skilled enough to creatively manipulate it in different contexts.
